A foundation principle of the early childhood education strategic plan is that quality teaching and learning practice in early childhood services will improve learning outcomes for children. Research has demonstrated that high quality early learning experiences are still giving children an advantage even in the senior secondary years.

This section of the site looks at a range of topics that contribute to learning outcomes including the foundation learning research shows young children need to build later experiences on, understanding the role of learning dispositions and extending learning in effective ways.
