Centres of Innovation (COI) Programme

Centres of Innovation (COI) are early childhood education services which are already using effective approaches and innovative practice to improve teaching and learning processes and support the effective implementation of Te Whāriki, the Early Childhood Curriculum. The COI programme started in 2003 to promote innovative teaching and learning in ECE. COI services were provided with support and funding for three years. The programme ends on 30 June 2009.
